She's Zo Angelic

"Angel," who is a registered and branded RPSI mare under the name "WIlhelmina PFF," is a 2011 model who is 16.1 hh, and as sweet as pie.  She is actually 50% Hanoverian and 50% Thoroughbred though.  If Tootie had to choose one word to describe her, it would be "happy" as she loves her new home, life, pasture mate and program.  She tries hard to please her rider, no matter what we ask of her, and is social and loving with people and other horses.  

Angel had formal intensive dressage training from 2017 - 2019, and then did not have any formal work at all 2020-April of 2021, due to her former owner's unfortunate life circumstances.  She served as an Amish man's "commuter horse" during that time.  Angel had been in training since May 15, 2021, and we bought her on June 5.   After 7 weeks of training with Tootie, which concentrated on getting Angel to relax while being ridden and obtain a proper topline, as well as gain fitness, hind end strength, and experience with show jumping and cross country, she attended her 1st jumper show.  Angel came in 2nd in all 4 of her classes, and was Reserve Champion of the Novice Jumper division.  

2 weeks later, she began her eventing career, and competed in her 1st horse trial, which was at the Beginner Novice level on August 21 at Waredaca, and came in 2nd.  She won her 2nd horse trial at the same level at Turner Farm by a mile on her dressage score of 27.0! She entered her 1st recognized horse trial in Beginner Novice at CDCTA on September 12, during which we learned that she needs to practice show jumping on grass (she had never ever done that before), so a few pesky rails kept her out of the ribbons.  She entered her 2nd recognized horse trial at Old Tavern on 9/27, during which she came in 4th in a class of 20, and was 3rd for the amateur riders.  She moved up to Novice at the Loch Moy on October 10, and WON in a class of 17 which had some heavy hitting professionals in it.

Angel's flatwork is exceptional, as she knows more about dressage than Tootie does.  On their 1st ride together, Tootie asked for a leg yield at the trot, and she did a half pass at the canter.  On the 2nd ride, she asked for a shoulder in on a circle, and Angel started a canter pirouette! This horse is definitely one you could get your bronze medal for dressage on! As she continues to gain fitness, strength, and exposure to things outside the world of dressage and driving an Amish man to work, she will continue to become an excellent eventer!
